Plymouth Albion prop
Andrew Tiedemann is looking for the spot in Canada World Cup squad. He says he would
use his time at Brickfields to make his way into Canadian squad for 2015 World
Cup. He got attached with his new team fellows for the first time during this
week. He said: “Thirty high quality matches before World Cup are very important
for my growth. There is tough contest for the front row of the Canadian team
and those games would help me to get number one spot.”
Tiedemann has
earned 28 caps for his country and his Albion move from his native Victoria
shows a long list of Canadians who went across the Atlantic to begin European
careers at Albion. He explained: “Someone provided a Canadian an opportunity and
they did well to prove themselves. That paved the path for us to be fit in the
professional set up. This set up is similar to that of Victoria. The great
difference is the players. We have not as many players as you have. We may have
10 or 15 high quality players while you have 30 or 40 good guys.”
