Rugby Achievements of USA Player Samu Manoa

Samu Manoa is an American born rugby union player who plays as lock for the Northampton Saints. Manoa began rugby at the age of 13 where his coaches were his father and uncle. Manoa played rugby for San Francisco Golden Gate RFC from 2003 to 2011. With his help SFGG won the US     2009 and 2011 Rugby Super League. He made 6 appearances from the US Select XV and the USA A sides from 2009 t0 2010.
He was selected in the US national team for the end of year tests 2010. He made his US international debut by appearing in a start against Georgia in November 2010. He did not represent the USA in the Rugby World Cup 2011 because of his Northampton contract 2011. Manoa signed a contract with Northampton Saints for the 2011-12 season. His physical strength, pace and ball skills impressed Northampton. Manoa represented Saints in 18 Premiership matches. Manoa was nominated to the 2011-12 Premiership” Dream Team” by ESPN.
